On “The Empty Frame”, the succeeding album to the critically acclaimed debut “Beauty in Chaos” (2010), Danish MALRUN has found the perfect combination of catchy rock melodies and energetic, groovy metal.

“The Empty Frame” was released in Europe 5th March 2012 via Target/Mighty Music and has already proven to be one the most promising new melodic metal albums in 2012. Musically, MALRUN navigates in a crossbreed of hard hitting metal, groovy riffs and melodic rock with a remarkably fresh and modern edge. The music thus targets both the broad mainstream audience as well as the metal environment. “The Empty Frame” is produced, mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Fear My Thoughts, Amaranthe).

The lyrical themes on “The Empty Frame” focus mainly on life changing events and how random circumstances and coincidences in life lead to great upheavals, loss, sadness, disillusion but also provide new opportunities and possibilities of filling out the empty frame – a symbol of life yet to be lived. And as always MALRUN’s lyrical universe is spiced with little pieces of everyday life, irony, sarcasm, humour and sex.

Beside receiving great press feedback, MALRUN also went forward on the live sector in 2012. Not only did they perform festival gigs (e.g. on Rockharz Open Air) but also played three very successful tours supporting DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER, EMIL BULLS and ENGEL.

In 2013, MALRUN want to work on their “The Empty Frame” follow-up which is expected to be released in 2014.
